Today a study came out that shows St. Louis having some of the highest rates of sexually transmitted diseases in the nation. The gonorrhea rate in St. Louis has dropped but we still rank 12th nationally. Last year 1,296 city residents were diagnosed with an STD last year.
St. Louis ranks even higher for for chlamydia. The previous year 1,239 in 100,000 St. Louis residents were diagnosed with chlamydia.
These numbers are definitely an improvement over the bad numbers that came out in 2007 for St. Louis.
