Australians are being offered $10 to get tested for Chlamydia. This is a new approach to having young citizens undergo a chlamydia test.
Another $10 will be given to the pharmacy for each test that they perform.
A chlamydia infection is normally easy to treat with antibiotics. Chlamydia also has no symptoms and go unnoticed for a long period of time. Longer term effects can be very bad and treating chlamydia early can save on health costs later.
The program is trying to test between 300 to 400 young people in Australia.
